She began with a washbasin and a pig. Well, actually, she began years ago. I had painted a couple of mermaids in New Orleans, but they didn't survive Katrina. So Kathy & Di (my fairy Godmothers) needed another bathroom mermaid. Using the Mexican pottery designs as a source, this Chico chic started a-happening around Christmas. Sunshine in December
Sometimes things don't turn out exactly as you had planned. Well, in the end they did, but we ran into a little glitch in getting there. There is a sunroom in Wilmette that has spent the last few years as, well, storage, mainly. After all the water damage remodelling Carole & Rich decided to also deal with this room. Faking the wood
Dastardly water damage disrupted domesticity in August. The repairs are finally coming together and we can come in and do the pretty stuff. Yay! So with much plastic and priming, patching, sanding, and prep our client can walk in and say "Ewww!" We have turned their trim a dark sunshine yellow. Not quite in sync with the grey-blue aims. But Day two brings relief, and the sunshine turns out to be our base for some nice wood grain. Phew. Once the trim is settled we did a nice
